
Among the most rural school districts in Pennsylvania, Forbes Road School District services the families of northern Fulton County in the southwestern part of Pennsylvania. Approximately 375 students attend grades K4-12 with an average graduating class size of 25. In 2005, the 7-12 grade high school building, which also houses administrative staff, was adjoined to the elementary building. In essence, Forbes Road School District is now contained in a single edifice.

Please review this memo containing information regarding Act 44 of 2025, which includes weapons notification requirements. This law goes into effect in January of 2026.
Why You May Receive a Future Notification About Weapon Possession Beginning January 2026, Pennsylvania Senate Bill 246 (Act 44 of 2025) requires schools to notify families within 24 hours whenever a weapon or potential weapon is found on school property, at school events, or on school transportation.
Accidental Items Still Count as Weapons Accidental possession of small or everyday tools is considered a violation under PA law.
Why You May Receive a Notice
The law requires notification even when there was no intent, the situation was minor, or the item was immediately secured.

May Day Update: Wednesday, May 7th, Red Birds – 2nd will run preliminaries from 9-11. Grades 3-6 will run their preliminaries tomorrow from 12:30-2:45. May 13th will be finals for all grades. Red Birds – 2 will be from 9-11, and grades 3-6 will be from 12:30-2:45. May 15th will be the rain date for finals, if necessary.
